LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "going the distance" is, somehow, a wonderful film: It is difficult to imagine any romantic comedy is going wrong in many different ways. It seems almost to be an ongoing contest for the worst scene, a moment, the worst character, most cringe-inducing and most awesomely bad line.
Must be star Drew Barrymore, actress and director is higher than average, they have mixed feelings about this film, which is sure to bomb anyway. And fewer people who see this new line / release from the Warner Brothers when it opens on 27 August, and will be easier to erase the memory each of them.
"Distance" wanted to be on the hook well-suited for the romantic comedy: How can the couple keep a relationship hot while living on opposite sides of the country? But that issue is lost amid the chaos of bad estimate, the bad and the blank masks fees for failing to take lovers seriously.
It was entirely predictable is less than its sins. Perhaps the biggest mistake in the accounts is a potty mouth movie. One expects the bluntness of the Apatow school of comedy too.
